BOARD MEMBERS..

Club president 2015/2016

The Lions School Academy was started in the year 1967 with just a nursery school with 6 children. Starting with this vision, the School rapidly evolved over the decades, with every year calling for new measures to meet emerging needs. One thing has remained constant, the commitment to quality and basic values. Property may be destroyed and money may lose its purchasing power, but character, health knowledge and good judgement will always be in demand under all conditions.

The seeds of an idea sown in 1967 have quickly come to fruition, and the schools are growing into strong saplings. It is the endeavour of the Lions Club of Nakuru to make the academic like, a smooth journey full of joy and discovery.

Today it is an institution with more than 2000 students. Having done my schooling in the very same academy, I feel extremely proud and privileged to write a message of goodwill as President of Lions Club of Nakuru which runs these schools. My heart fills with immense pleasure as I perceive the progress being made at Melvin Jones Lions Academy.

An education at these institutions has empowered generations of students who have gone on to secure positions in reputed institutions of higher education. The Melvin Jones Lions Academy has an illustrious name and a glorious tradition to follow.

I extend my warm wishes to the Principal, Staff and Students of Melvin Jones Lions Academy to continue this journey on the road of excellence.

"May the sapling grow into a sturdy tree and spread its branches"

≼≼≼  About Us :

Board Chairman 2015/2016

Melvin Jones Lions Academy is one of our three celebrated sister schools managed by the Lions Club of Nakuru; the others being Lions Primary and Lions Nursery. It has been with immense bliss that I have served as the Chairman of these schools' Management Board during the 2015/2016 Melvin Jones Academy's academic and Club's Lionistic year. I congratulate the Lions' Schools family for our great achievements during this time, as we carried on with our shared dream of making a significant impact on the lives of the so many young and bright minds under our care, notwithstanding our inspirational voluntary service to many others within Nakuru.

In spite of our glorious feat as the leading schools in Nakuru, we have never been inclined towards commercializing education. On the contrary we remain selfless in our delivery of high quality education to the community. The Melvin Jones motto, 'Excellence in education and service through diligence' echoes very well that of the Lions Clubs International 'We Serve', both of which affirm our aspirations towards empowering people and society educationally for good progression.

Melvin Jones Academy is the International Curriculum wing of our complex, caring for children in the age range of 6 to 18 years. As would be expected it has risen steadily, from a humble beginning, navigating the course of the usual ups and downs of life in its last twenty four years of existence to become an imposing academy of good repute. The tradition of our students topping in a number of subjects across Kenya in Cambridge International Examinations is particularly enviable. This specialty is so commendable, and a shot in the arm for us, as we strive to make high quality education accessible to many at a relatively stumpy fee.

I thank my fellow board members for their noble efforts in the provision of quality infrastructure. We remain keen on maintaining a setup that fosters learning through provision of unlimited opportunities to the learners so that they are able to adapt to challenging situations in life with ease.

I congratulate the Administrator, Principal, staff, students, pupils and parents for their input. We all remain worthy partners in the venture of our children's educational wellbeing. Thank you..

Lion Anil Walia
Chairman of the Lions Club of Nakuru Schools Management board.

Administrator

We thank almighty for His blessings upon this school, the staff, the students, the parents and the School Board. We pray to God for His continued blessings.

The journey at Melvin has been marked by remarkable, better service delivery and improved academic performance. At this point, I wish to thank the Principal, Mr. Abraham Lubanga, the pupils, staff, parents and the School Management Board for the hard work and commitment that has yielded great results.

I wish all students and staff happy stay in the Institution as we all strive to make Melvin a better school. With our team work, dedication, honesty, hard work and of course blessings from the Almighty let us join hands and take our schools to greater heights.

As Nelson Mandela said, "A good head and good heart are always a formidable combination. But when you add to that a literate tongue or pen, then you have something very special."

Thank you.
